BILLINGS - Billings resident Leslie Taft hasn't seen her 25-year-old daughter, Jamee Grossman, since March 12.
"The daughter I knew before two years ago was a successful, working, single mother enrolled in college and spent a lot of time with the girls," Taft said. "She was a good person. She was happy, and healthy, and she met a guy and lost her way."
Billings police listed Jamee as a missing person on June 12. Her mother said her friends last saw her leave a party in Lockwood with her boyfriend in the early morning hours of March 17, but detectives haven't confirmed she was at the party or that she went missing on that date.
"Her boyfriend is the last one to see her," Taft said. "Saturday morning, apparently he took her to a convenience store to get coffee and cigarettes and fill up with gas, and then drop her off for a visitation with her daughter, but we had family members go watch the recording at the store, and they were never there."
Taft said Jamee's boyfriend called her family to say she was missing. They called police, who discovered someone used Jamee's identity at a local pawn shop. They lifted a print from a pawn ticket and discovered it wasn't Jamee's.
"We thought she was still around for those couple months until people started coming to us and saying, 'Hey, we haven't seen Jamee,'" Taft said.
Jamee graduated from Billings Senior High School in 2005. She has two daughters, ages four and five, who have been living with other family members since 2010.
Jamee has tattoos of her daughters' names on her upper back, as well as a tattoo of a rose on the upper part of her foot. She also has long, blonde hair. She was working at the Golden Corral in Billings the week she disappeared.
"She doesn't have identification. She doesn't have her phone," Taft said. "It's not like Jamee not to get ahold of her daughters. I mean that's all she ever wanted was to have her daughters back and get her life back together."
Taft said her son and Jamee's ex-boyfriend were both approached by an individual saying Jamee could possibly be dead. She fears for the worst, but hopes her daughter can get this message:
"If she's seeing this, then I want her to know I love her and I should have hugged her and kissed her and told her that last time I saw her."
Meanwhile, Taft said she tries to continue her normal routine, hoping something will lead her to her daughter. Detectives are looking for any possible leads in the case. Please call authorities at 657-8473, or call Crime Stoppers at 245-6660, if you have any information on Jamee's whereabouts. You can also contact the Billings police on Facebook.
Jamee's mom and friends are forming a search party to look for clues. Those interested can meet at the Lockwood Elementary School parking lot at 10:00 a.m. Thursday.
