Deputies look for missing NC teen Dec 21, 2012 12:21 p.m. RUTHERFORDTON, NC (FOX Carolina) - Deputies hope someone has seen a missing western North Carolina 16-year-old girl who has not been seen or heard from in two days. Rutherford County deputies were assisting the Polk County Sheriff's Office in looking for Jessica Newton. She is also known as Jessie or Jess. Newton was last seen on Wednesday when she left her home off of Coxe Road near the Polk-Rutherford county line sometime between 3:30 a.m. and 7:15 a.m., deputies said. Deputies said they do not have a reason to believe there is foul play involved but are concerned because she has not returned home or been heard from since. Newton is described as 5'3" tall, weighs about 130 pounds, has brown hair, green eyes, a scar on her right cheek and forehead and has asthma. Polk County SO looking for missing teen Dec. 22, 2012 COLUMBUS —Polk County SO looking for missing teen Dec. 22, 2012 @ 04:54 AM STAFF REPORTS COLUMBUS —The Polk County Sheriff's Department is looking for a teenager that has been missing since Dec. 19, 2012. According to a report, Jessica Tene Newton went missing from her home on that date. Her home is located in a housing development off of Coxe Road near the Polk and Rutherford county line at Union Road. Law enforcement officials said she went missing between 3:30 and 7:15 a.m. Polk County Sheriff Detective Randall R. Hodge said that law enforcement does not have any reason to believe that fowl play is involved in the disappearance, but that they are concerned that Newton has not been seen or heard from. According to the report, Newton is 5-feet, 3 inches tall and weighs approximately 130 pounds. She has brown hair and green eyes and has a scar on her right cheek and forehead. In addition, she also suffers from asthma.
