Frantic Search For Missing Man & Woman Updated: Saturday, 12 May 2012, 7:28 PM EDT Published : Saturday, 12 May 2012, 7:28 PM EDT PHILADELPHIA, Pennsylvania - Melanie Colon, 22, was last seen getting in a car on the 2400 block of North Reese Street with Reynaldo Torres around 6 p.m. Tuesday. That 1983 gold Mazda with a black hood was later found empty on the 100 block of West Rockland Street, and the two have not been seen since. Colon’s family has distributed flyers with pictures of the two across their neighborhood, and the Philadelphia Police Department has asked for the public’s help in locating them. Colon is the mother of a 4-year-old son. Little information has surfaced about the disappearance, but the discovery of a young woman’s body in a wooded area off of the 700 block of Maple Lane in Juniata Park Saturday morning has Colon’s family worried and praying it isn't her. A police spokesperson said the body has been turned over to the Medical Examiner’s office, and they had not yet identified the woman Saturday afternoon. Search for Missing Couple 05/12/2012 Philadelphia Police have released pictures of a missing couple. Reynaldo Torres and Melanie Colon were last seen together on May 8. Authorities say the couple was spotted around 6:00 p.m. on the 2400 block of North Reese Street getting inside a 1983 gold Mazda with a black hood. The vehicle was later found unoccupied on the 100 block of West Rockland Street, according to police. Missing Melanie Colon Case Update: LOCATED DECEASED Missing woman’s body found in Juniata Park 05/13/2012 Police on Sunday said a woman whose body was found badly decomposed in a wooded area early Saturday morning in the Juniata Park neighborhood was that of Melanie Colon, 22, who was reported missing last week. Colon was last seen with Reynaldo Torres about 6 p.m. Tuesday on Reese Street near York in North Philly as they were getting into a 1983 faded gold Mazda with a black hood. The car was later recovered, unoccupied, on Rockland Street near Front in Feltonville, police have said. Torres was also reported missing last week. Colon’s body was found about 5:50 a.m. Saturday by a passerby in the woods behind an apartment building on Maple Lane near Wyoming Avenue in the Juniata Park section. The apartment building is near Tacony Creek Park. She was pronounced dead by medics shortly afterward.
