Family: Missing 13-Year-Old Ran Off With Man She
Pittsylvania Co., VA -- Family and friends are desperately searching for a 13-year-old Pittsylvania County girl who's been missing since Tuesday. Family members think Jennifer Renee Adams ran off with a man she met online.
Her mother says she feels like she is living her worst fear. She says her daughter loved to draw, play football and do normal kid activities. She says she never thought this would happen to her.
"I just pray she is safe. Whatever is going on I pray she is safe," says Jeannette Adams, her mother.
The last time Jennifer's family says they saw her was just before she got into a car outside of her Aunt's house on Tuesday night.
"She said, 'I love you Uncle Wendy,' gave me a kiss and a hug. I said, 'I love you too. Be good.' That was it," says Wendy Adams, Jennifer's aunt.
Jennifer told everyone she planned on attending a friend's party. Now, loved ones says she lived a double life.
"I had seen and heard about all the things that can happen from that and now I am living it," says Jeannette Adams.
Family members say Jennifer struggled with depression and have found out she regularly attended online chat forums, talking possibly with older men. Her family members suspects one of those connections took her somewhere.
"I had no idea none of this was going on," said Wendy Adams.
"I've warned her all her life about talking to strangers and not going off with anyone. But the way I think she has been back and forth with this person she thinks she has a repertoire with them," said Jeannette Adams.
With nearly no clues to her whereabouts, no cell phone connection, and only hope, they pray that she will return home.
"Other than praying that God has his hands on her and is protecting her and watching over her that she is okay," said Jeannette Adams.
Jennifer is 5'1'' and about 150 pounds. She has brown hair and hazel eyes. She was last seen wearing jeans and a black shirt with art work on it.
If you have any information call the Pittsylvania County Sheriff's Department at 434-432-7931.
