Jaden Lopez, 3, Missing in Kershaw County

Kershaw County, SC (WLTX) - Kershaw County deputies are searching for a child reported missing Tuesday.

Jaden Lopez, a three year old Hispanic boy, is missing from the Mt. Zion road/Cassatt area.

Lopez was last seen around 6:15pm Tuesday evening. He has short black hair and was wearing a red t-shirt, blue shorts and blue Crocs shoes.

Bloodhounds and about 100 volunteers are currently looking for him.

Investigators have not yet said who he may be with.

Missing boy found alive in briar patch

A 3-year-old boy who disappeared from his home Tuesday evening sparking an all night search has been found alive in a briar patch.

Kershaw County Sheriff Jim Matthews said a deputy heard Jaden Lopez crying and found him soaking wet and covered in scratches. Deputies had to use a machete to cut the briars away to get to him.

The deputy who found him searched the same area last night but didn't see him.

Matthews said Lopez is back with his family and they are going to the hospital for a check-up.

Lopez went missing around 6:15 p.m. Tuesday. Investigators believe the child walked off while playing outside at a home on Mt. Zion Road in Cassatt.

Deputies say at least 100 law enforcement officials and volunteer firefighters assisted in the search overnight. A SLED helicopter took to the air this morning to look for the boy.
