Manatee deputies still looking for missing woman, 19

MANATEE -- Authorities continue to search for a mentally disabled Bradenton woman who has been missing since June 22.

Brittany Ormsby, 19, was visiting her mother for the weekend when she decided to leave her mother's home in the 6700 block of Tumbleweed Drive without telling her mother.

"Brittany is not able to properly care for herself and is in need of services," stated a sheriff's report released last week.

Ormbsy has shoulder-length red hair. She was last seen wearing a purple shirt and white shorts and riding an older green bicycle.

Ormsby is known to frequent Sarasota. The sheriff's office on Thursday said she similarly disappeared last year and was later located in Sarasota.

Brittany Ormsby, 19, left her mother’s home in the 6700 block of Tumbleweed Trail in Bradenton on Friday evening and still has not been located.

“Brittany is known to frequent Sarasota” and may have gone in that direction, the Sheriff’s Office says.

MANATEE COUNTY - UPDATE Manatee County sheriff's deputies say a missing woman was found this evening in Sarasota.

Brittany Ormsby, 19, left her mother's home in the 6700 block of Tumbleweed Trail in Bradenton on Friday evening and had been missing. Family and authorities were concerned because she is mentally disabled and unable to care for herself. They thought she might be headed to Sarasota.
