CCPD Needs Help Finding Missing
CORPUS CHRISTI - Friends and family have spent three days searching for loved one, Brittany Gonzales. Grandmother, Janie Gonzales said Brittany went missing Friday night at 7:00 pm.
She went for a walk to the Sunrise Foods at Morgan and Staples to get some soda but never made it the four blocks back home.
"Please, please bring mommy home." said Brittany's three-year-old son. Janie Gonzales said the little boy said, "'you call mommy now and tell her I'll be good. To come home.'"
"He thinks she's gone because he's been misbehaving," Janie Gonzales said.
Family members say Brittany always took trips to the store but they became concerned last time when she didn't return. Since then, they've been passing out fliers, trying to find their loved one.
The family needs all the help they can get because, according to Janie Gonzales, Brittany is disabled. At the age of seven, Brittany caught a form of meningitis. The disease forced the amputation of all but two fingers.
Although Brittany is 23 years old, now, family members say she has the mindset of a 12 year old. "She's still a child at heart," said Janie Gonzales, "If somebody stopped and asked her, 'hey you want a ride or something?' She might have gotten in the car."
The family would like Brittany to know they haven't given up hope. Her sister Vanessa Menchaca said, "If you hear us or see us and you can't do anything about it, just know you will be home because your sisters and your brother are looking for you."
If you know anything about the whereabouts of Brittany Gonzales, call Corpus Christi Police.
CCPD would also like the public to know if any person is in danger, there's no time period one must wait before reporting someone missing. If someone is missing and possibly in danger, call police immediately.
