Police Looking for an At-Risk Missing Pregnant Adult

Modesto, CA- Modesto Police are actively looking for a 9-month pregnant missing female adult, after family received a note from her this morning. The missing person is considered “at-risk” due to the circumstances surrounding her disappearance.

On Monday August 6 th ,at about 1 A.M., a family member called police reporting Liza Costello, a 21-year-old Modesto resident, missing after family members discovered she was not in her bedroom. Costello had left a note stating she was going outside to meet her ex-boyfriend, 22-year-old Eric Davis, who had come over to the house during the night.

According to the note, Davis had threatened to break the windows to the house, unless she would come outside and talk to him. Costello mentioned in her note that if she was not back within 5 minutes to call the police. When Costello’s mother woke-up during the night to check on Costello, she found the note and called the police.

Davis is believed to be the father of Costello’s baby and the two have had an ongoing relationship until recently. According to Costello’s family, Davis had been abusive to Costello in the past and recently Costello left Davis,while they lived in the Fresno area and she moved to her mother’s home in Modesto.

This afternoon at about 1:30 P.M., Costello’s mother received a call from Costello stating she needed help before the call was abruptly ended. Detectives are concerned due to Costello being 9-months pregnant and that she left her two other children, ages 1 and 3, at the residence. Investigators believe Costello maybe held against her will by Davis.

Detectives have been actively working on this case and working with allied agencies throughout the central valley checking all known places Davis frequents. In addition, Costello has been entered into a statewide law enforcement database listing her as an at-risk missing adult.

Liza Costello is described as being 5’-00” tall, 110 lbs., and having brown hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a black tank top, and pink sweatpants with the word “Pink” on the side.

Eric Charles Davis is described as being 5’06” tall, 175 lbs., and having brown eyes and brown short length hair. He is known to frequent hotels in the Fresno area.

Davis is believed to be driving a 1999 Chevrolet Tahoe SUV, blue in color, with a Louisiana license plate number of TGU274.

Modesto Pregnant Woman Reported Missing; Ex-Boyfriend Sought

MODESTO (CBS13) –Police are looking for a 21-year-old pregnant Modesto woman who went missing overnight and could be with her ex-boyfriend against her will.

Liza Costello, who is nine months pregnant, left a note that her family found Monday morning. A family member called police about 1 a.m. after discovering she was not in her bedroom.

Costello had left a note stating she was going outside to meet her ex-boyfriend, 22-year-old Eric Charles Davis, who had come over to the house during the night.

According to the note, Davis had threatened to break the windows to the house unless she would come outside and talk to him. Costello mentioned in her note that if she was not back within five minutes, to call the police.

When Costello’s mother woke up during the night to check on Costello, she found the note and called the police.

“We are very concerned at this point in the investigation for several reasons,” Lt. Rick Armendariz said. “We do believe based on what we have at this point that she may be being held against her will.”
