Fishers police are now searching a part of Geist Reservoir near the subdivision missing 18-year-old Peyton Riekhof’s family lives.
Divers entered the part of the reservoir where tire tracks were found near Tamenend Trace subdivision around 5:30 p.m. Sunday, confirmed Officer Tom Weger of the Fishers Police Department.

As the search for missing Fishers teenager Peyton Riekhof enters its fourth day Sunday, local police are continuing to evaluate and pursue tips in a case that is quickly receiving national coverage.
On Friday, the Fishers Police Department asked for the public’s help in finding Riekhof. Surveillance footage at a Shell station at 96th Street and Olio Road roads showed Riekhof buying gas for her black 2006 Mercury Mariner SUV around 2 a.m. Thursday.
“We’re still continuing to search during our regular patrol duties and following up on tips,” said Officer Tom Weger, the spokesperson for the Fishers police department.
He said the city police department may also use Indiana State Police resources, including a helicopter, in their search for the 18-year-old.
Weger said he had received calls from national media outlets about the case and is optimistic the coverage may reach her.
“Our hope is that if she is out of state, she’ll see the report and call home,” he said.
Fishers police hoped Riekhof’s cell phone would help point them in the direction of the 18-year-old woman who went missing early Thursday.
When a mobile phone connects to a cell tower as it sends a text or receives a call, it leaves behind digital footprints that can be used to triangulate a location. GPS technology built in phones can also be used by the telecommunications provider to pinpoint its location.
Police say they found one such footprint left behind on Riekhof‘s phone after she left a friend’s home in the Geist area. After that, Weger said her cell phone was either turned off or discharged, and that police had been unable to identify any other possible location where she could be.
Saturday night, friends and family held a candle-lighting at Holy Spirit Parish at Geist Catholic Church in Fishers. Weger estimated 300-400 people attended the vigil.
“We hope you come light a candle and say a prayer for her safe return,” said a message on a Facebook page set up to spread the word about Riekhof disappearance. As of this afternoon, it had 5,000 likes.
The Hamilton Southeastern graduate is described as being 5 feet, 8 inches tall, 140 pounds, with blonde hair and blue eyes. She was wearing a pink tank top and black yoga pants.
Police say Riekhof’s friend, Cody McQueen, called authorities just before 3 a.m. Thursday, saying he was concerned about her safety. He said she appeared agitated when she and left his Geist home.
Riekhof’s SUV has a University of Kansas Jayhawks sticker on the rear window, and a KU license plate frame, police said.
