Police: West Side woman, 20, missing more than a week

Authorities are looking for a West Side woman last seen more than a week ago.

Tiara Groves, 20, was last seen about 3 a.m. July 14, walking southbound on South Mason Avenue by West Roosevelt Road, according to a missing person alert issued by Chicago police.

Groves, who lives nearby in the 1000 block of South Monitor Avenue, has not contacted family or friends since.

She is described as 5 feet 6 inches tall, weighing 145 pounds, with brown eyes, black hair, and a medium complexion. She was last seen in an orange striped T-shirt, orange leggings and brown boots.

July 24, 2013 (CHICAGO) (WLS) -- The body of a young woman reported missing last week has been found in an abandoned West Side factory.

Tiara Groves was 20 years old. Her body was discovered Tuesday.

There's no word yet on the cause of death.

Autopsy inconclusive on missing woman found in abandoned factory

An autopsy on a missing woman found decomposed in an abandoned West Side factory Tuesday afternoon was inconclusive.

Authorities found the body just before 2 p.m. Tuesday in an abandoned factory in the 4600 block of West Arthington Street, police said.

She was later identified as 20-year-old Tiara Groves, of the 1000 block of South Monitor Avenue, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office.

An autopsy on Groves’ decomposed body was inconclusive pending toxicology results, according to the medical examiner’s office.

Police issued a missing person report last week saying family and friends had not seen Groves since July 14. She was last seen about 3 a.m. that morning walking south from the 5900 block of West Roosevelt Road.

Area North detectives are investigating.
