Myrtle Beach, SCThe devastated family of Heather Elvis, a missing South Carolina woman who mysteriously vanished from Myrtle Beach nearly three weeks ago, is appealing to the public for help. "We are worried sick. We need anyone that knows anything – even the smallest detail – to come forward," Elvis' father, Terry Elvis, told The Huffington Post on Monday. "I'm not ruling out foul play or anything else. I don't care what it is. I can forgive just about anything." The missing 20-year-old was last seen at about 2 a.m. on Dec. 18, 2013, when she returned home from a date. She called a female friend about an hour later to tell her how the date went and that was the last time anyone spoke with Heather Elvis. She has not made contact with friends or family and has not showed up for her job at the Tilted Kilt Pub and Eatery in Myrtle Beach. The first and only known break in the case came on Dec. 19, 2013, when Elvis's dark green 2001 Dodge Intrepid was found parked at Peachtree boat landing. The location is about an eight-minute drive from the missing woman's parents' house. ----- The 5-foot-1 woman weighs about 118 pounds. She has brown/auburn hair and brown eyes. There is a $25,000 reward for information leading to finding her. The family has also set up a Facebook page and a reward donation account with a PayPal account under FindHeatherElvis@gmail.com. "Her mother, sister, brother and I are frantically grasping at all straws to find out where she is at," Terry Elvis said. "If you know anything at all, please come forward. We just want our daughter back." Anyone with information about Heather Elvis should call the Horry County Police Department at (843) 915-5350 or (843)-915-TIPS (8477). www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/01/06/heather-elvis-missing_n_4550195.html

Heather Elvis still missing: Call goes out to boat owners for help in search December 27, 2013 With Heather Elvis being missing now for over a week, the call went out to boat owners Thursday for their help in the search for the Socastee, S. C., woman. Authorities and volunteers have decided to expand the search for the missing 20-year-old over the coming weekend to include more ground area as well as waterways, radiating out from Peachtree Landing on the Waccamaw River, where Elvis' car was found on Dec. 19. The Sun News reported Dec. 26 that CUE (Center for Missing Persons), a missing persons advocacy and organizational agency out of North Carolina, has asked for the extra help of boaters and fishermen with boats to join in the search over the coming weekend. Extra eyes engaged in the search might make the difference. “Anything that doesn’t fit that looks like it’s fresh, call law enforcement,” Monica Caison, director of CUE, told The Sun News. “I know it seems like an eternity for the family, but she hasn’t been missing that long. Anything that looks like it’s been out there a week could be a clue.” But "that long" has grown to ten days for some family members. For the father, Terry Elvis, it has been a day longer. He said, according to WBTW in Myrtle Beach, he last saw his daughter on Dec. 16. "I thought I knew the meaning of pain, I thought I knew the meaning of love, I thought I knew just how much my children meant to me," he told the Myrtle Beach station. "I had no idea how deep it runs. It's amazing, I never knew you could feel that way, so if anyone knows anything please come forward." Terry Elvis runs a sign shop at Market Commons in Myrtle Beach. He has been actively helping CUE in their search efforts as well as printing up missing persons posters. Those posters can be seen all over Myrtle Beach and throughout Horry County. In an interview with WPDE Monday, he also made an emotion-filled plea for the safe return of his daughter. The actual search efforts have been ongoing since Thursday of last week. On Friday and over the next couple days, an extensive search was made around the Peachtree Landing area where Heather Elvis' car was found. Boats from various local and state agencies assisted Horry County Police in their search efforts. A helicopter rendered air assistance. Bernie Thornton, a CUE Center volunteer, told WPDE in Florence that the job was simple. "Just ride and looking out through the woods, just keep an eye on the water." He added, "Looking for any signs or anything really to give us something to go on." And something to go on seems to be in relatively short supply, if the amount of information that has filtered out to the public is any indication. What authorities know is: Heather Elvis was last seen at her parents house in Carolina Forest on Tuesday, Dec. 17. The last time her cell phone pinged was at 3 a.m. the following morning. Her vehicle, a dark green 2001 Dodge Intrepid was found abandoned and undamaged at Peachtree Landing in Horry County (about ten miles from Carolina Forest) on Thursday, Dec. 19. Her father, Terry Elvis, immediately filed a missing persons report. The 20-year-old, a hostess at the Tilted Kilt Pub and Eatery at Broadway at the Beach in Myrtle Beach, didn't show up for her scheduled shift on Friday, Dec. 20. Local and state authorities immediately started searching for signs of the missing woman and canvassing the area for possible witnesses as to her whereabouts or where she may have been last seen. Police found no indication that Elvis had been been near or gone into the water, but they cannot rule out the possibility. The family quickly moved into action as well, creating a Facebook page, FindHeatherElvis, to help spread the word and to also help organize searches and possibly gather information that might help find their missing family member. Posters were created that can be downloaded and printed and posted. A reward of $11,000 is being offered as well for any information that might lead to finding Heather Elvis. Elvis is described as 5 feet 1 inch tall and weighing about 118 pounds. She has brown hair and brown eyes. Anyone with information about the young woman's whereabouts or her circumstances are urged to call call 915-TIPS, or send an email to crimetips@horrycounty.org. Missing Myrtle Beach area woman found safe, Heather Elvis search continues Posted: Friday, January 3, 2014 11:39 am | Updated: 10:58 pm, Fri Jan 3, 2014. Volunteers are leaving no stone unturned in their search for a young woman who disappeared more than two weeks ago. Heather Elvis, 20, of Carolina Forest, still had not been found as of this posting. Elvis was last seen entering her River Oaks apartment sometime between 2 and 3 a.m. Dec. 18, according to an Horry County police report. Her vehicle, a 2001 Dodge Intrepid last seen in her driveway at White River Drive at that time, was found Dec. 19 at the Socastee boat landing off Peachtree Road, the report said. Banners bearing Elvis’ likeness now hang by the train tracks at River Oaks Drive. Several businesses continue to pass out missing persons fliers and a Facebook page – “Findheatherelvis” – remains active. A tent will be set up at River City Café by the Socastee swing bridge from 5 p.m. Jan. 3 to 11 p.m. Jan. 5 for the purpose of accepting anonymous, no-questions asked leads. Flyers will be available for pickup. The reward for information leading to Elvis' whereabouts has been increased to $25,000. Volunteers were busy scouring the vicinity of Tidewater Road as of this posting, and additional searches were planned over the weekend. The Center for Missing Persons (CUE) still needs volunteers, but anyone wishing to help find Elvis must first register with CUE. Click here to register online. Meantime, an email address to submit tips remains active. Citizens can email any information to crimetips@horrycounty.org or by calling 915-TIPS (8477). “Any information, as minute as people think it may be, might be what we need,” said Lt. Robert Kegler, spokesman for Horry County police. Elvis is one of several women who were reported missing in the final weeks of 2013. The other missing women have since been found. Most recently, Horry County police verified that Jamie Lynn Cross, 24, had been located and was safe. Detectives determined that no crime occurred, according to a post to the HCPD Facebook page. Kegler said officers made contact with Cross by telephone on Jan. 2. Kegler said an officer then met with Cross in person to verify that she was safe. Cross had been missing since Dec. 23. Kegler said she didn’t know people were looking for her and noted that she isn’t facing any charges. “She obviously being 24 [years old] can leave as she chooses to and was unaware of what was going on,” Kegler said. A police report filed Christmas Day said Cross, 24, was last seen two days before Christmas at her home on Ronald McNair Boulevard near Myrtle Beach. She told an acquaintance she was going to dinner with a third person identified in the report as 31-year-old Conway man. www.myhorrynews.com/news/crime/article_9c10bb9e-7495-11e3-bf49-001a4bcf6878.html

Another couple-a psychos. What is Peachtree Landing? Google would not tell me. Sounds like an upscale home community, but maybe just a marina with touristy shops/eats?! Warrants: Heather Elvis kidnapped, murdered at Peachtree LandingUpdated: Feb 24, 2014 5:52 PM PST By WMBF News Staff MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - Murder charges were filed against Tammy and Sidney Moorer for the alleged murder of 20-year-old Heather Elvis, Horry County Police officials confirmed Monday morning. According to newly-obtained arrest warrants for Tammy and Sidney Moorer, the HCPD states there is probable cause to believe that they kidnapped Heather Elvis and murdered her at Peachtree Boat Landing on December 18, 2013. The warrants for the murder charges state that Tammy and Sidney Moorer "did unlawfully, without just or sufficient cause, murder Heather Elvis with malice forethought." The kidnapping warrants state that the couple "did unlawfully seize, confine, kidnap, abduct or carry away Heather Elvis by any means whatsoever without the authority of the law." Horry County Police won't say what they found, but they will say that through the process of elimination at the evidence recovered from the home on Friday, they know who kidnapped and murdered Heather Elvis back in December. Capt. Dale Buchanan with Horry County Police said, "We have evidence that will be processed with us. SLED is assisting us with processing some of the forensic evidence. Is some of that evidence DNA? Yes." The murder charge was announced at a news conference Monday morning, and comes in addition to the kidnapping, obstruction of justice, and indecent exposure charges against the couple arrested Friday. Authorities confirmed in a news release that both Moorers are accused of murdering 20-year-old Heather Elvis. Horry County Police Chief Saundra Rhodes said police located evidence inside the Moorers' home and on their property during the search Friday that gave them probable cause for the murder charge. "We have not located Heather," Chief Rhodes said. "That is something that we are still looking for." Chief Rhodes said the investigation is still ongoing, but evidence located on the property led to the charge of murder. A bond hearing for the murder charges is scheduled the week of March 17, 2014. ..... www.wmbfnews.com/story/24804641/hcpd-couple-to-be-charged-with-murder-of-heather-elvis

On Feb 20, one day before they are arrested, one of the suspects files police report. And same earlier in the month. Vigilantes, or some kinda wild attempt for him to create some story to blame someone else; being blackmailed, or something? February 6: Sidney Moorer files a report with the Georgetown County Sheriff's Office stating that while traveling with his wife and kids on Ocean Highway near Georgetown at around 10 p.m., a truck sped up behind them and allegedly fired two shots from an automatic fire.
February 20: Sidney Moorer files a police report with Myrtle Beach Police claiming a truck with two men inside drove up to him and one man pointed a shotgun at him on North Kings Highway at about 1 :30 a.m.www.wmbfnews.com/story/24788974/timeline-of-events-in-the-heather-elvis-case

I seem to have missed something here. Why are they saying she was murdered? All I've heard is that there is "evidence" that Heather was killed at the boat landing. She has not been found yet, but yesterday authorities did experimental work with tidal waters in that area. They did the same sort of thing for Natalee's case in Aruba.

Here's some images of that area: There are a couple of Google Map aerial shots that show the whole area. Peachtree Landing looks woodsy, rural, with a few homes scattered around. It's a paved drive boat launch at the Waccamaw River/Intracoastal Waterway. There is an image of it on this link: Thanks for the links. Was trying to imagine why she would drive to this boat landing. But maybe she was abducted elsewhere.

oops, correction....it was the evidence found at the couple's home that caused the charges of murder.
They aren't saying what was found.

Looks like they have NOT been charged officially with murder, and charges today were for kidnapping. Earl, it looks like Sidney told Heather he was leaving his wife. Apparently they were romantically involved. www.chelseahoffman.com/2014/01/heather-elvis-love-triangle-evidence.htmlInteresting information on the blogtalkradio, on the link above. I've listened to 2/23/14 audio, and the 2/23/14 audio broadcast. Chelsea Hoffman discusses the problems that this case has had, including the home phone number of Heather's parents that was on the missing posters. Chelsea emphasizes that it is never a good idea.
